My Crying Heart

(based on photography by Steve McCurry)

I am a boy who is poor.

I have a cap that is as yellow as the sun.

I have hair that is as black as a soldier’s hat.

I have a shirt that is as blue as the sea.

I have a heart that is crying.

My world is a deadly world.

But I am fine because

I know God is with me and

God created the earth and

my crying heart will be fine.
