In November of 2011 Writers in the Schools (WITS) honored best-selling novelist and former WITS writer Katherine Center with its Founders Award.  Katherine continues to be an important voice in Houston’s literary arts community, and we are thrilled by her success.

image001On Tuesday, May 7th, Katherine is having a book launch at 7 PM at Brazos Bookstore. Join all of us as we celebrate the publication of The Lost Husband, Katherine’s 4th novel.

Katherine is also doing a reading at the Blue Willow Bookshop next Thursday, May 9th at 7 pm.  We hope you will be able to attend one or both of these readings. Katherine is funny and full of memorable stories that you won’t want to miss!

The glory of WITS is best expressed by the students--in their own words -- so this blog features essays, stories, and poems that were created by K-12 students in our program. All material (c) Writers in the Schools 2007-2013. If you wish to republish this work, please credit both the organization and the author and link back to this site.
