Hello Houston Friends,
As some of you know, Jen Hofer and I (a.k.a. Antena) are going to be teaching a class called “In The Between: At the Intersections of Writing, Art, Politics” at the University of Houston as part of the Interdisciplinary Arts program in Spring 2014. The class will be part of a large-scale Antena installation that will feature books and art from the U.S. and Latin America.
The class will meet on Tuesday evenings from 5:30pm-8:30pm (thought this will probably shift in practice to 6pm-9pm), from January 14 – May 6, and we will host an encuentro (gathering) from February 13-16 with the eleven artists and writers participating in the show — 5 of them local Houston artists, and 6 from various places in the U.S. and Latin America.
I am writing to let you know that there are 10 slots available for community participation in our class. The slots are open to the public and the class is free of charge. If you are interested in participating in the course, please send an email to Amy Powell, Curatorial Fellow at the Blaffer at apowell2@central.uh.edu.
In your email, please include:

1) Name, Email Address, Physical Address, Phone Number
2) Can you commit to attending all class sessions between January 14 and May 6, and to attending the encuentro (gathering) Antena is hosting in mid-February?
3) Tell us a little about yourself and why you are interested in taking the class.
We intend to give priority to community members who can commit to attending all sessions of the class and to having a significant presence at the encuentro. There will also be quite a bit of reading for the course (all of it fabulous!), so hopefully you will be interested in doing some serious reading this spring!
If you have any questions, feel free to let me know.
All best,
JP (& Jen)
